What if my child misbehaves at our Family Portrait Session?
It’s more common than you’d think that children have a meltdown at a family portrait session.
Most of the sessions with toddlers that you see in my portfolio involved some sort of chaos during the session.
In reality, a 1 year old will give me better portraits if I let them do their thing.
So that’s exactly what I do.
I let the child be themselves and I aim to photograph them as they are.
I’m a mom of 3 and I’ve been there.
My twins are 3 and my son is 5.
I get it.
Kids can be full of energy and need to express that.
There’s a lot of excitement around getting dressed up and taking photos.
Or there might be some nervous feelings with having pictures taken.
I approach each session with an open mind.
Let go of perfection and embrace the chaos.
I remind myself of this often.
With this mindset I get to capture your family as you naturally are.
We have plenty of time to resolve any misbehavior or meltdowns.
And I’m not above bribing the kiddo with a lollipop!
