What Most Moms Forget to Bring to Their Newborn Session

When you book a newborn session with me, I know you're excited and maybe a little nervous about capturing those precious moments with your new bundle of joy. But in all the excitement, there are a few things that often get overlooked, and I'm here to make sure you're well-prepared for your special day.

1. Water and Snacks for Yourself

First things first, let's talk about the basics: hydration and nourishment. In all the hustle and bustle of getting your little one ready for their photo debut, it's easy to forget about taking care of yourself. Staying well-hydrated and having some snacks on hand is vital for a successful and comfortable session. Trust me, you'll appreciate that water bottle and a little something to nibble on during breaks. Newborn sessions can sometimes be lengthy, and we want you to feel your best throughout.

2. A Special Blanket or Stuffed Animal

There's nothing quite like incorporating something meaningful from your family into your portraits. Whether it's a cherished stuffed animal passed down through generations, a beautiful blanket knitted with love by your aunt, or a special gift from grandma, these items can add a heartwarming touch to your session. They not only tell a story but also make the photos more personal and unique, and you’ll love being able to look back over the years at photos of your little one with these treasured items.

3. Backup Shirt for Yourself

Newborns are adorable, but they can be unpredictable! It's not uncommon for them to have a little accident during a session. You may remember to pack extra outfits for your little one, but I also highly recommend packing a spare shirt for yourself, too. This way, you can quickly change if needed, and we can continue capturing those beautiful moments with you feeling fresh and confident.

These are just a few items that many moms forget to bring to their newborn session, but with a little bit of planning, you can ensure that your experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Remember, your newborn session should be a relaxed and wonderful experience for you and your baby. I'm here to help, guide, and capture those fleeting moments so you can cherish them for years to come.

So, don't forget your water, snacks, that special family heirloom, and that extra shirt! You'll be ready for an unforgettable newborn session that captures the beauty and joy of this precious time in your life.
