What should the baby wear at our Portrait Session?

Do you have an upcoming portrait session with your baby? Don’t stress about what the baby should wear! I have a few tips to make choosing an outfit easy and stress-free.

It’s all about simplicity and timelessness

I want the focus to be on your baby. So, my advice is to keep their outfit simple, classic, and timeless.

Avoid any distractions that may take the focus away from your little one.

For instance, a newborn baby wearing normal clothes can be distracting.

Or your baby can get lost among outfits that are too big or loose-fitting.

Classic white for newborns

For newborns at my studio, I provide plain white diapers and a plain white swaddle.

This way you don’t have to worry about finding outfits for your newborn.

If you’d like to bring a plain onesie for your baby, that works great too.

Minimal patterns and neutral colors

For 6 months and older, choose minimal patterns and neutral colors.

Avoid shirts with words or graphics, and stay away from cartoon characters.

I also have some plain white diaper covers we can use when we do photos in just the diaper.

Use my client closet

View my CLIENT CLOSET to see what’s available for you to use while you’re in my studio.

These pieces can also be an inspiration for what you can bring from your own closet.
